Here I am again, nearly the end of August already. Labor Day weekend is just around the corner too. Mel and Cindy plus my daughter, Anne, and family will be here to help celebrate. Having a family bbq on Sunday.
After that, it will be time to prepare to leave for QZ for the winter. Summer has flown by and we are anxious to go RVing once again after staying home all season. Also, looking forward to some long ATV rides with Frank and Regina. Jer fashioned a basket for Taffy to ride in on the quad and she loves tagging along with us. Taffy is going to be 8 months very soon.
On a sad note, we had to put our dauschund, Howie, (17) to sleep in July and it nearly broke my husband's heart to lose his faithful companion. Good thing we had Taffy to help fill the void. Jer buried Howie under a shade tree(he didn't like the sun) near our veggie garden and made a headstone for him. Last wk end, Jennifer (14) made a plaque for Howie also.
The veggie garden did pretty well and we had tons of corn on the cob and tomatos. The green beans made a comeback this month so enjoying those also.
And preseason football is back and the reg. season to begin in a few wks. What--football already!!!
Time to go and adios til next time and maybe it won't be as long in between writing-times!
